Interprete per matrimonio bilingue al lavoro durante il rito civile

My name is Fernanda, I’m a professional interpreter and translator, and I’m specialized in bilingual and destination weddings.

You might be wondering what a wedding interpreter does because you’ve never heard of it before or, maybe, you are already planning a multilingual wedding and need some help finding the right balance between your languages and keeping your big day smooth and strees-free.

Let me tell you my story and why I became a wedding interpreter.

Everyone knows brides are demanding and I was no exception. Just like every bride, I wanted my wedding day to be perfect. Everything had to be the way I had envisioned it! From A to Z, from Altar to Zest for life! However, something kept worrying me (no, I’m not talking about the in-laws!): I had to plan a bilingual wedding.

My husband is Italian and technically so am I. After all, I hold an Italian passport and I am an Italian translator, right? But I was born and bred in Uruguay, my first language is Spanish and, most importantly, I wanted my family to be part of my big day. How could that be possible if they couldn’t understand a word? The obvious choice was a bilingual wedding. We printed two sets of invitations (one per language), prepared bilingual mass booklets and wedding programs, translated our wedding blog into Italian and Spanish, had a bilingual menu, and, guess what? gave directions for the ceremony and reception in two languages as well! Putting the extra effort into planning a bilingual wedding was challenging but worth it!

Since then, I decided to specialize as a wedding interpreter and translator to help other happy couples make their wedding day even more special!
